Precious Beryl
The Beryl species is comprised of many colors which collectively are
referred to as "Precious Beryl." They are sensitive to pressure being brittle by nature. Beryl has a vitreous
luster and is often found with deposits of Aquamarine. Colors range from golden-yellow, yellow-green, yellow,
pink and clear.
Special trade names for the various colors are:
Bixbite (Raspberry red)
Golden Beryl (Lemon-yellow, golden-yellow)
Goshenite (Colorless)
Heliodor (Light yellow-green)
Morganite (Pink)
Deposits are found in Brazil, Namibia, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, China, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Afghanistan,
and the state of Utah in the U.S.A.
